UPCOMING INITIATIVES & PROGRAMS IN DIABETES CARE

The Odisha Diabetes Foundation is committed to expanding its efforts in diabetes education, prevention, and care. In line with this mission, several new programs and initiatives are in the pipeline to ensure widespread awareness and accessibility of diabetes management across the state.

2-Day Training-Cum-Workshop on Primary Diabetes Care

A 2-day Training-cum-Workshop on Primary Diabetes Care is being planned for interns from medical colleges, AYUSH institutions, and interested general practitioners across Odisha. This workshop will focus on equipping participants with essential skills in diabetes management at the primary healthcare level. Key topics will include early diagnosis, patient counseling, lifestyle interventions, and effective treatment strategies. By empowering healthcare professionals at the grassroots, this initiative aims to strengthen the overall diabetes care system in Odisha.

Insulin Awareness and Training Programs

Specialized Insulin Awareness and Training Programs are being designed to cater to both patients and healthcare professionals. Separate sessions will address critical aspects of insulin therapy, including proper handling, storage, and administration techniques. Conducted in collaboration with other reputed organizations, these programs aim to improve insulin adherence and ensure better glycemic control, thereby reducing complications related to diabetes.

Free Monitoring and Guidance Camps

Free Monitoring and Guidance Camps will be held regularly at the community level, focusing on providing essential diabetes care services. These camps will offer free blood sugar testing, HbA1c monitoring, and screenings for complications such as diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, and foot ulcers. The initiative aims to promote early detection and timely management of diabetes, ensuring better health outcomes for underserved populations across Odisha.

These initiatives represent the foundation’s commitment to promoting excellence in diabetes care and ensuring that high-quality healthcare services are accessible to all, especially in underserved areas of Odisha. Through these programs, the foundation seeks to make a lasting impact on diabetes prevention and management across the region.
